Leighton Holdings Limited is the parent company of Australia's largest project development and contracting group, with a total operating revenue of $10.0 billion and market presence throughout Australia, South East Asia and The Middle East.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen within this dynamic group for a proven and highly experienced Project/Construction Manager to take on the role of Project Manager: Risk. It is imperative that you have previous experience working for a major Australian contractor in major civil engineering, building and infrastructure works. Some experience in mining projects would be advantageous.
This new position will involve the successful candidate managing all technical and operational aspects of Project Reviews across the Leighton Group of Companies in a wide range of Industry disciplines. Active participation within Project Review Groups on selected contracts will be required. The analysis and appraisal of existing business processes and mechanisms, from project initiation to finalisation, will also form part of the candidate's role.
A high degree of industry knowledge combined with a minimum of 15 years experience is required on major civil engineering and infrastructure works. The successful candidate will ideally have some previous exposure to project review processes.
An effective ability to communicate at all levels of a project to conduct in-depth review processes in order to analyse projects and identify positive and negative work practices is a prerequisite. Following on from this, the candidate must have the ability to provide workable solutions to any potential problems which may arise, and importantly identify and report on successful project practices.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must if the candidate is to meet the exacting internal requirements of this new role. This is a position for a decisive individual, with a keen knowledge and understanding of the type of major projects the Leighton Group of Companies is involved in, and a wealth of previous "hands on" experience.
