Group Commercial Manager

Based in Sydney, this is a fantastic opportunity to join one of Australia's leading Civil & Building Contractors in the important position of Group Commercial Manager.

The primary function of the role is to manage the development, implementation and maintenance of contractual and contract administration systems for the Group. It will also be your responsibility to direct and control head contract and subcontract administration for all projects plus direct and control commercial and financial risk analysis and, control reporting throughout the Group.

It is essential to have a legal, commercial, accounting, financial or QS qualification for this role, combined with a minimum 20 years experience in a commercial/business environment. Preferably, you will have experience from the construction, building, engineering or property development industries.

You must have a proven ability in the pre-tender/pre-award process to successfully negotiate and win projects, plus represent the company's position. Strong management of cost control processes is imperative, plus you will be skilled at managing people from different backgrounds across diverse businesses.

On a personal level you will be a leader, with strong business acumen, and an ability to "recognize a deal".
