Commercial Manager-Civil Construction

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of Australia's major Engineering and Construction Groups' in the important position for Commercial Manager-Civil Construction for NSW.

The primary functions of the role are; Pre Tender/Pre Award Reviews, Negotiations, Project Establishment, Project Support, Project Reports and Project Reviews and Audits.

A degree or certificate qualification is required in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Finance combined with exposure to standard and non-standard civil contracts and Alliance Agreements. A minimum of 5 years experience in a senior contract, commercial or cost role is required.

You must be able to read and negotiate a contract and understand what is being committed to. A familiarity with litigation strategies is required plus you will have an ability to " shift the commercial leverage" to your employer. Proven skills in systems and procedures are required to understand Earned Value reporting methods, cost control, cash flows and procurement documentation.

On a personal level you must be a lateral thinker who understands civil construction from a commercial business perspective.
